NATIVE GRASSES
Australian native grasses were little understood by Europeans until recently, they have since been found to have within their ranks many species useful for grazing as well as revegetation
Some have very high protein levels, respond to fertilizer and are drought hardy, but all have one thing in common and that is they have had thousands of years to aclimatise to the vagaries of Australian weather and soils
Our knowledge of Australian grasses, how to collect their seed, sow and grow increases every year.
The species represented here are from The Southern highlands of N.S.W. Australia which has a very diverse range of soil type, climate and habitat.
Temperature ranges between -15deg C to +42deg C and rainfall between 24" to 50" p.a.
